Frequently asked

How do I show numbers like "1 of 12" instead of just a number?
Type a format using the placeholders, such as "{n} of {total}", where {n} fills in each page's number and {total} fills in the page count. Anything else you type, like the word "Page" or dashes, is drawn literally, so "Page {n}" becomes "Page 1", "Page 2", and so on.
Can I start the numbering at a value other than 1?
Yes, the "Start at" option sets the number for the first page, so the count begins there and increases by one per page. Set it to 0 or any other whole number when your document continues from somewhere else.
Does this change page numbers that are already printed in the document?
No. It draws new number text on top of every page at the position you choose and does not detect, replace, or renumber any numbers already baked into the file, so existing printed numbers stay where they are.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The numbering runs entirely in your browser and your file never leaves your device. You can open the Network tab before you start and confirm nothing is sent.
