Overview

About HTML / Markdown → PDF

Reach for this when you have an .html, .md, or .txt file and just want a clean, readable PDF of its words. It pulls the text out of your file, then lays it onto pages with real, selectable type. Because it is text-focused and not a full browser layout engine, styling, images, links, and complex CSS do not carry over, so intricate web pages will not look the same. You set the document title, page size (A4 or Letter), and font size; the conversion happens in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

Questions

Frequently asked

Will my CSS, images, and page layout be preserved?
No. This is text-focused, not a browser layout engine, so it reads the text out of your HTML or Markdown and lays it onto clean pages; styling, images, links, and complex layouts are not carried over. If you need a pixel-faithful copy of a styled web page, this is not the right tool.
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
Yes. The output is real PDF text laid out with standard font metrics, so you can select, copy, and search it. It is not a flat image of the page.
What options can I set?
You can set the document title, the page size (A4 or Letter), and the font size. The title is normalized to plain ASCII, so any accented or non-Latin characters in it may be replaced with a question mark.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, and your file never leaves your device. You can confirm this by opening your browser's Network tab and watching that nothing is uploaded while it works.
