About PDF/A export

PDF/A is the format archives, courts, and records systems ask for when a document needs to look the same years from now. This tool renders each page locally and rebuilds it as a PDF/A-2b file with the Rust krilla engine, so the visual layout is preserved as a self-contained archival copy. Because pages are rebuilt from a rendered image, the text becomes non-selectable in the result, so reach for this when long-term fidelity matters more than copying text. You can adjust the render scale to trade file size against sharpness, and the whole conversion happens in your browser.

Will the text still be selectable in the PDF/A file?
No. Because each page is rebuilt from a rendered image rather than from the original text layer, the result has no selectable or searchable text. Keep the original PDF if you need to copy or search the text later.
What does the render scale option do?
Render scale controls the resolution at which pages are rendered before being rebuilt. A higher scale produces sharper pages and a larger file, while a lower scale keeps the file smaller at the cost of detail.
