Which output format should I pick for the smallest file?
WebP, AVIF, and JPEG XL are the lossy options and usually produce the smallest files at a given quality, while JPG is the widely compatible lossy choice. Pick PNG only when you need a lossless result, since it will not shrink the way the lossy formats do.
Will compressing reduce the image quality?
With WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL, or JPG, yes, because they are lossy and drop some detail to save space. You control how much with the quality setting, and PNG stays lossless if you would rather not lose any detail.
Can it resize the image too, or only re-encode it?
It can do both. Set a max width or height in pixels to scale the image down, or leave that at 0 to keep the original dimensions and only re-encode.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
