About Booklet

Reach for this when you want to print a multi-page PDF as a saddle-stitched booklet: a stack of sheets you fold down the middle and staple. It works out the imposition for you, placing two pages side by side on each landscape sheet in the shuffled order that puts everything in sequence once folded. Pick A4 or Letter, set the binding edge to left or right, and choose a margin. Because a booklet folds in groups of four, the page count is padded up to a multiple of four with blank slots so the fold lands cleanly.

Why does my booklet have extra blank pages?
Blank pages are added because a folded booklet works in groups of four sheets. The page count is padded up to the next multiple of four with blank slots so the spreads stay in order and the fold lands cleanly; with 6 source pages, for example, you get 8 placed pages.
Do I print this double-sided, and how do I fold it?
Print the result double-sided (flip on the short edge), then stack the sheets, fold the whole stack in half, and staple along the fold. The pages are already imposed two-up in booklet order, so they read in sequence once folded.
What do the binding edge and margin options do?
Binding edge sets whether the booklet opens on the left or the right, which matters for right-to-left layouts. Margin adds inner spacing in points around each placed page, defaulting to 18pt, so content does not run into the fold or sheet edges.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The imposition runs entirely in your browser, so your PDF never leaves your device. You can confirm this by opening your browser's Network tab and watching that no file is sent while it works.
